Introduction to Our Formerly Elected Officials Effort - VA

 The Candidate/Campaign/Election People - iCaucus
Make Formerly Elected Officials

iCaucus is a national organization comprised of local tea party members that focuses primarily on candidates, campaigns, and elections.  iCaucus is not a tea party group but rather a tea party function.

We believe that removing incumbents from office that do not respect the will of the people, and installing representatives who subscribe to fiscal responsibility, adherence to the constitution and limited government is the MOST effective approach to promoting freedom.

Please note that recent history clearly shows that lobbying, rallying, faxing, delivering petitions, emailing and calling failed to stop Obamacare AND other progressive agendas!! To preserve our freedom we must remove certain legislators because pleading with them (via lobbying, rallying, faxing, delivering petitions, emailing and calling) not only demonstrates to them our powerlessness but gives poor or uncertain results. If we had people in office of integrity who agree to “binding [themselves] down from mischief by the chains of the constitution ” (Jefferson) we would not need to rally and lobby and fax and email and blah blah blah. Let's choose a more effective method to ensure liberty to our posterity by working on the campaigns of worthy candidates - and let's go on the offensive. We must move from this reactive state, join together and engage the main mission – GET THEM OUT OF OFFICE.

To this end we in Virginia have turned our attention to the 2011 elections. We have identified 6 delegates and 5 senators that voted against our Virginia “Health Care Freedom Act” (HB10 or other 10th amendment initiatives), AND, whose last election had margins that indicate that they are vulnerable. We perhaps could target more but limited resources require thoughtful strategy.  These names are posted below.

And so to this same end we need to identify solid conservative candidates that we the people can support in these races. That is why iCaucus has a vetting process for state legislative offices which is already in place and we would like you involved in it to help us identify not only those who subscribe to our core principles, but who also have a good reputation in their community, their political organizations, and are electable (i.e., not 3rd parties). You can help us interview these candidates and participate in deciding who to recommend to our membership for endorsement. The interview is done by conference call and the membership voting is done on line. All you have to do is listen in and get a 'read' on the candidate as they are asked questions. You can also ask questions if you like. Then the iCaucus members caucus and vote. If the candidate gets an endorsement vote, we get to work by bringing every resource we have (time and talents, etc.) to the campaign team.

Virginia is one of 4 states that have state elections in 2011 so, to this very same end, the national iCaucus Virtual Campaign Team (iCVCT) will help us here in VA to do the oppositional research and to train people to expose the voting record, contributions, statements, positions, etc. of these targeted candidates to assist in GETTING THEM OUT OF OFFICE. We are prepared to equip the tea party members with oppositional research skills and publishing skills so that those who support state control of our lives can no longer count on their friends in the media to keep their records rosy. It is not a smear campaign that we do. We publish the rest of the TRUTH that the voters need to know. There are three aspects to the iCVCT: research on the incumbents, writing blogs and press releases, etc. and publishing/taking info viral. In these actions we are stepping up from political activist to political warriors. Join us. Even doing one small part helps the overall effort.

Our investigative results will be posted here.
